Who are the Picotte family?
The Picotte family has been a major player in the wedding industry in Sydney for the past 90 years. Started initially by Frederick Picotte in the 1920s as a way to help his friends and relatives arrange their weddings, the Picotte name soon became synonymous with high quality wedding affairs. Frederick was known as the leading wedding planner in the city, or ‘organiser’ as they were known in those days, and he grew the family name as he arranged the services of a growing number of high profile Sydn-siders.
He was joined by his brother in the 1930s as weddings became more and more fashionable and the two won numerous awards for their business and charity work. Frederick’s son Charles took over the business in 1947 after the war and began revolutionising the industry with his stunning traditional approach to wedding arrangements and vast connections across the city. Charles ran the business for over 30 years with his wife Margaret.
The business was then passed on to Charle’s son Maxwell in 1980 and he and his wife Claire broadened their appeal and shifted the business to its current home in the northern beaches. Max and Claire’s daughters Chloe and Georgina have worked with the family business for the past 10 years though have formally come on board as joint owners in the last year bringing with them a fresh new approach to wedding organisation and photography.
The Picotte family have a passion for weddings and the near century of experience has enabled them to offer the very best service in the city. With a dedication to preserving the purity of the weddings, the Picotte Weddings family business is here to serve you.
